The file is available in several formats for use with
different cutting machines.
Dowload and extract files from the zip file.
I used the Brother Scan n Cut CM600 machine but there are
other file types available for use with other cutting machines.
The .fcm file has to be transferred onto a usb, which can
then be inserted into the side of the machine.
Open the file and then you can begin cutting.
I cut all the pieces of the file on 320gsm centura pearl
card and a second topper panel onto 250gsm silver card.
To make up the card, I cut the side panels from the silver
card.
I placed the silver layer behind the white layer to create a
shadow effect. ‘By eye’ I then trimmed
the silver and top white layer to create a small border around all the pieces.
I then folded the front along the score lines and inserted
then into the slots on the front to make the pop up section. These are secured on the inside, whilst still being able to fold to the side to put in an envelope.
Flowers or Ribbon could be added to front of the card.
An insert was printed from the computer
and the cut with the file, when added this covers where the pop up section has been adhered to the card front on the inside.
Some other ideas…..
v
Adhere acetate to the back of the front section
and colour on the reverse, creating a stained glass effect.
v
Emboss a patter onto parchment and adhere to the
back of the front section.
v
Using double sided adhesive on the reverse, fill
the cut out spaces with glitter.
Dependant upon the decoration, this is a great card to use
for Christenings, Sympathy, Easter, & Confirmations.
Rae’s designs can also be purchased and downloaded from www.myprintablecrafts.com, www.craftsuprint.com, www.card-making-downloads.com or from www.etsy.com.
A big thanks to Charlotte for helping with the decoration of
these cards.
